Time to act on housing:

Andrew Reding for Bellingham City Council Ward 6

Housing is a basic human right.

It is unacceptable that Bellingham now ranks as the 4th most unaffordable city in the nation relative to income. Everyone deserves safe, affordable, and dignified housing. We can achieve this through a bold combination of regulatory reform, mixed-income social housing, and community land trusts.

My campaign is also committed to expanding housing choice. Outdated zoning restrictions limit options, drive up costs, and fuel sprawl, car dependence, and climate emissions. It’s time to remove these barriers and build a more inclusive, sustainable city.

My Cascadia Daily commentary: Bellingham’s rules really do contribute to city housing crisis.
